Costa Rica secured the last ticket to the FIFA U-17 World Championship Peru 2005 on Sunday after a 1-1 draw in Honduras gave them a 3-2 aggregate win in the CONCACAF third-place play-off.
In a tight contest in Tegucigalpa, the home side went ahead thanks to a Darwin García (81') goal but César Elizondo popped up with the equaliser one minute into the second period of extra-time to take the Ticos through to their third consecutive FIFA U-17 World Championship. They will represent the CONCACAF region alongside Mexico and the United States.
Peru 2005 takes place from 16 September to 2 October.
